Erinnern wir uns daran, wie zu Beginn des Internets am Ende des letzten Jahrtausends das Aussterben des Mittelsmanns prophezeit wurde, da man nun alles direkt erledigen k\u00f6nne. Eingetreten ist aber das Gegenteil. Die Mittelsm\u00e4nner haben heute oftmals nat\u00fcrliche Monopole geschaffen und Gr\u00f6ssen erreicht, welche dazumals noch unvorstellbar waren, denken wir beispielsweise an Amazon. Es gibt bei Software und Internet basierten Gesch\u00e4ftsmodellen oftmals nur einen dominierenden Anbieter. Hierbei spielen Netzwerkeffekte eine Rolle, die von Office Programmen bis zu Social Media offenkundig viel st\u00e4rker zum Tragen kommen als zum Beispiel bei Automobilherstellern, wo es doch mehrere etwa gleich grosse Marktteilnehmer gibt.<\/p>\n

Blockchain<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Nun stehen wir wohl vor der n\u00e4chsten grossen technologisch getriebenen Ver\u00e4nderung, der Blockchain. Das ist, wie inzwischen wohl die meisten wissen, der technologische Unterbau von Bitcoin und all den anderen Crypto W\u00e4hrungen. Die Blockchain erm\u00f6glicht einfach ausgedr\u00fcckt die sichere Abwicklung von Transaktionen ohne Mittelsmann, v\u00f6llig dezentral und eben direkt zwischen den teilnehmenden Parteien. Diese Transaktionen k\u00f6nnen nun nicht nur Geld\u00fcberweisungen sein, sondern jegliche Art von Informationen abbilden, bei welchen es von immanenter Wichtigkeit ist, dass sie nicht beliebig vervielfacht oder nachtr\u00e4glich ge\u00e4ndert werden k\u00f6nnen, wie beispielsweise ein Grundbuch oder Aktienregister. Zudem kann man in diese Transaktionen auch noch Logik mitimplementieren, welche wiederum Transaktionen ausl\u00f6sen kann. Dies wird im Crypto Jargon ein Smart Contract genannt. Ein Beispiel hierzu w\u00e4re ein Smart Akkreditiv Gesch\u00e4ft, welches automatisch die Zahlung eines gesperrten Betrags auf einem sogenannten Contract Wallet bei Erhalt der Ware veranlasst. Wird die Ware nach einer festgelegten Zeit nicht geliefert, wird das gesperrte Geld dem Zahlungspflichtigen zur\u00fcck\u00fcberwiesen. Dies aber ohne jegliche Bank und ohne Vertrauensverh\u00e4ltnis zwischen den beiden involvierten Parteien. Die aktuell beliebteste Anwendung von Smart Contracts sind die sogenannten Initial Coin Offerings (ICO), wo Risikokapital f\u00fcr Blockchain basierte Gesch\u00e4ftsmodelle oder die Herausgabe von neuen Crypto W\u00e4hrungen beschafft wird. Auch hier ohne Investment Bank oder \u00e4hnliches als Vermittler respektive Abwickler.<\/p>\n

Neben dem augenscheinlichen Umgehen von Finanzintermedi\u00e4ren sind aber noch andere weitreichende Implikationen vorstellbar. Es k\u00f6nnen nicht zentral gesteuerte globale Marktpl\u00e4tze entstehen, welche Angebot und Nachfrage f\u00fcr jegliche Waren und Dienste zusammenbringen und auch gleich das Settlement der Zahlung erm\u00f6glichen. Dies bedeutet, dass der kometenhafte Aufstieg von Online Mittelsm\u00e4nnern wie Airbnb und Uber schon bald wieder Geschichte sein k\u00f6nnte.<\/p>\n

Noch einen Schritt weiter k\u00f6nnen ganze Organisationen und Wirtschaftsabl\u00e4ufe nach klar programmierten Regeln und Konsensmechanismen festgelegt und ausgef\u00fchrt werden. Diese werden dezentrale autonome Organisationen (DAO) genannt.<\/p>\n

Diese Dezentralisierung, nicht nur auf architektonischer Ebene (keine zentrale Datenbank), sondern speziell auch auf organisatorischer Ebene (keine zentrale Kontrolle), ist ein Paradigmenwechsel von noch nicht absch\u00e4tzbarem Ausmass und k\u00f6nnte die heutige Wirtschaftsordnung ziemlich stark in Bewegung bringen.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In welchem Ausmass dies stattfinden wird, kann heute wohl niemand absch\u00e4tzen. Hier ist u.a. die Frage, wie stark die eingangs erw\u00e4hnten Netzwerkeffekte zum Tragen kommen in dezentralen Systemen. Auch hinsichtlich der Regulierung sind noch viele Fragen offen.<\/p>\n

Was die Blockchain aber sicher bringen wird, ist eine neue Stufe der Effizienz, Transparenz und Automatisierung von Prozessen weit \u00fcber die Finanzindustrie hinaus.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Blase<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Und ja, die sich aktuell bildende Blase in der Crypto Finanzwelt wird wohl platzen, aber das Internet brachte viele der grossen Innovationen auch erst nach dem Platzen der Dotcom Bubble im Jahre 2000 hervor.<\/p>\n
